Consumer Products

When you purchase a new product you expect it to have gone through a number of checks to ensure that it is safe to be sold as a consumer product for the public to use.

Here at Hattons we often find that although the majority of consumer products are safe for use, unfortunately some defective products do end up in the public domain and are available for people to buy.

You May Be Able to Make a Compensation Claim for Injuries from a Consumer Product

If you have an accident and suffer a personal injury from a consumer product you may be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim. We have a team of specialist defective consumer product claim solicitors who have experience in pursuing claims for damages against all types of companies.

You Can Claim Against the Manufacturer of the Consumer Product or the Person Who Sold it to you

If the accident was due to a defective consumer product such as a chair you purchased that broke beneath your weight or a cosmetic product that caused you injury, then you would be entitled to make a personal injury claim against the manufacturer of the faulty consumer product or the person who sold it to you.

Dangerous Consumer Products Can Also be Items of Food That Cause Food Poisoning

Dangerous consumer products can also be items of food which are sold to you and are not safe to be eaten. If you contract food poisoning as a result of a consumer product which was sold to you in an unfit condition, you may be able to make a consumer product compensation claim.

If Possible Keep the Receipt of the Defective Consumer Product as Evidence

If possible you should report the dangerous consumer product accident to the person responsible for it as soon as possible, take names and addresses of witnesses to the accident and if appropriate retain and take photographs of the faulty consumer product itself. You should also keep the original purchase receipt for the consumer product as it may be required as evidence.

If you would like to make a compensation claim for an injury that has occurred as a result of a defective consumer product then please contact our specialist team of solicitors on 0800 298 9690 or fill in the Claim Now Form to the right of this screen.
