Bruce is a highly experienced solicitor working in the legal profession since 1991 in his home town of St Helens.
He is the Founding Partner of Hattons Solicitors, managing its growth and development to become one of the area’s leading claimant personal injury firms. He opened the firm in April 2001 which has since helped thousands of clients to gain compensation after personal injuries or developing industrial health problems.
Bruce now sits as Deputy District Judge in the Cheshire and Merseyside region of the Northern Circuit.
Bruce specialises in complex and fatal personal injury cases and industrial disease cases, especially dealing with victims who have suffered serious health problems after exposure to asbestos. He embraces a rounded holistic approach to rehabilitation for his personal injury clients ensuring that the client’s individual interests are kept at the centre of the case.
Bruce experience means he has been involved in aspects of civil litigation, such as commercial law and professional negligence matters too.
He works to ensure quality business management within Hattons, making sure it filters throughout the whole firm, emphasising excellent staff training. Many of Hattons employees have been with the firm many years, as Bruce has encouraged them to complete training that furthers their career and skills within the firm.
An accomplished personal injury lawyer, Bruce has been an accredited member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 2000, which is a select group of solicitors who have to prove that they have a depth of knowledge in handling PI matters.
Bruce has been an accredited member of APIL and the American Association for Justice for many years and has appeared personally before the Coroners Court, the Magistrates Court and the County Court, as well as taking clients’ cases to the High Court, the Court of Appeal and even abroad with Litigation in the USA.
He has been credited in the first edition of the Industrial Disease text book written by MacDonald and Georges, and is an expert in dealing with industrial injury claims.
He is also a former membership secretary of the St Helens Law Society.
