The Chairman's thoughts...
Unfortunately due to a pre-arranged stag do I was away watching the other code in Cardiff last weekend. This was probably just as well as my nerves could not have withstood the action at Close Street. With 15 minutes to go it looked like our season was at an end but thanks in part to a sending off and the efforts of all on show we managed to win the game and take our place in our first ever Hattons Solicitors National Conference Grand Final.
Thanks to Terry Gorman of Leigh East I didn't miss a second of the action and all can be viewed by clicking here. I have to say having found out earlier on Sunday, that my Aunt who had been ill for a short while had succumbed to Cancer, the win really did give me a lift and something to look forward to this weekend.
I have the greatest respect for Leigh East but it's our turn to have a crack at Siddal this year and if we can do half as good a job as Leigh East then we won't be far off.
As Chairman obviously I am delighted for the Club but it is well deserved after all the effort that has been put in not only by the players but also the volunteers that have taken this Club to the top of the tree in amateur Rugby League. We look forward not only to Sunday at the Stobart Stadium but to next year and building further on the Club's success.

The Head Coach's thoughts...
Twelve months ago Thatto Heath Crusaders were crowned Hattons Solicitors National Conference League 01 champions. With promotion to the Premier Division, we were fully aware that 26 competitive league fixtures against 14 equally matched teams would be a physical and psychological challenge. What was apparent in early training sessions and fixtures, was that we had a special group of people who would relish the challenge.
In the Premier league standings after 26 fixtures, a promoted team finished in second place on points difference – a first for the NCL competition. After a play-off victory against last season's NCL champions, Leigh East ARLFC, we have deservedly progressed through to play Siddal in the NCL Grand Final- another first for a promoted team.
Every player and volunteer knows how difficult the Siddal fixture will be. We are fully aware that as a team we will need to perform at 100% if we are going to win the competition. Are we capable? Are we ready? Definitely.
The players deserve their time in the Grand Final spotlight and to reap all the glory that accompanies success. However, the players are fully aware that their success is built on the back of hard work, dedication, volunteers and sponsorship investment. We wear the "Hatton's Solicitors'' logo on our Grand Final shirt and as the clubs main sponsor, Hattons Solicitors continue to play a valuable role in the success of the team.
Amateur sport is about special days – the open age players of Thatto Heath Crusaders will give the community of Thatto Heath a special day on Sunday. Come to the fixture and support the team that wears your logo.
Kick-off is at 2.30pm on Sunday 29th May at the Stobart Stadium, Widnes. Entry is £4 and Concessions are £1.
