I'm still trying to warm up after possibly the wettest game I've ever played in!! The match at Odsal on Sunday was played in awful conditions. It had been raining heavily all day and didn't stop throughout the game either! This led to a lot of errors on the field and a lot of dropped balls. I was disappointed in the draw as I feel like we were the better team in the first half and Eastmond was very unlucky to have his try ruled out by the video ref.
The second half was a very tough and an even matched battle in which no tries were scored. It was really hard going out there and it was so frustrating with so many errors on both sides slowing the play up. We were awarded a penalty for an obstruction on Gaskell in the last minute of the game and Foster did a superb job as usual and successfully kicked it to earn us a draw.
I really want to thank our amazing fans that made the trip across to Bradford and suffered dire conditions to cheer us on- you made all the difference.
The Super League saw some funny results this weekend with none of the top four clubs registering a win. You can't help but ask yourself if this was due to the England and Exiles players backing up after less than 48hrs after playing the origin game on Friday night. I enjoyed watching it and thought it was much better to watch and more evenly matched than the usual mid-season game against France. However, I think that if it continues next season the game should be on a Wednesday like in State of Origin, or a free weekend should be slotted into the fixture list so that players have enough time to recover for their next club game.
