Louie’s Blog: Second in the League!

Friday saw us win another two points which leaves us second in the league, not a bad place to start the season, but there's a long way to go yet!I didn't get to play on Friday night as we're rotating the squad whilst we have the luxury of doing so- a complete contrast to much of last season as we were unlucky with injuries. However, it's obviously not nice being the one to miss out playing the first home game of the season, but someone had to do it. Hopefully I'll be playing this weekend at Hull KR!

Sitting on the bench gives you a different view to the game, and I thought the boys played much better in the second half, as the scoreline showed. Dicko scored two tries in the second half which makes him the top try scorer at the club so far-as he has been reminding us all week!! I was pleased to see Boof (Laffranchi) get his first try for the club too.

It was great to see past and present Saints legends on the field for the opening ceremony. Van Vollenhoven came into the dressing room afterwards and gave a little speech, which was fantastic to hear from a past player with a reputation such as his.

This weekend sees us travel to Craven Park to face Hull KR, always a tough place to go. But, if our support is anywhere near as good as it was on Friday night, I'm hopeful that we can put in a good performance and come away with the points.
