Season opener done! The regular season ended in London last year and started there this season, albeit against the same team under a different name. The Broncos recruited well in the off season and that showed, especially in the first half as they had a great completion rate. We got back into the full swing of things in the second half and managed to secure the two points. It wasn't quite as odd being back at the Stoop as it was last year, it felt a bit like any other fixture in the calendar. I've only got a few friends left at the club now as they saw a big turnover of players last year. However the good thing about playing there was the fact I had a lot of friends and family there supporting me.
I couldn't believe how cold it was on Saturday! I spend my life telling anyone that will listen how much warmer it is down south, and it was colder down there than it was back in St Helens! The grounds men did a fantastic job on the pitch, but it was a shame they didn't put heated seats on the bench!
The away support was fantastic as ever, it was great to see so many fans make such a long trip in freezing conditions. As I tried to meet my family in the bar afterwards, I got mobbed like I was some kind of rock star, which is always nice! It must be my devilish good looks.....
