Louie’s Blog: Saints Trip to France

First Home Game of the Season

I was personally really disappointed that we lost our first home game of the season. We didn't stick to our game plan and came off worse for it. We had a hard weeks training after that with plenty of videos to make sure we were all set for our game in Perpignan.

Perpignan and the Catalan Game

rhino-150x150.jpgWe flew out on Friday and at the airport I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers had joined forces for the 2011 season.....

On the Friday night we went into Perpignan to watch the Quins vs Huddersfield game. It was nice to be able to go around in the evening without a coat on!! I took this picture on the way there as the place looked lovely at night (see pic below).church-150x150.jpg

It's always a tough game against Catalan, and this was no different! We lost Leon and Scotty Moore in the first 25 minutes, which meant we had to play the rest of the game with only two subs. We managed to get through it and come away with a well-deserved win.

England Elite Squad

We flew home on Sunday and i was lucky enough to grab a window seat....

view-150x150.jpgWhen we arrived back to the UK there was a taxi waiting to take me and the other boys from the England elite squad to a training camp in an RAF base in Lincolnshire. I had a great bag of new kit waiting for me and my own en-suite room, which was bliss after sharing with Scotty for 2 days in France!!

Unfortunately I had to leave the camp early on Monday lunchtime, as I had to get to Liverpool to have a scan on my shoulder, after I landed awkwardly on it in the game. Thankfully it's not too serious but unfortunately I can't play tonight so will miss out on playing against my old team!
