I was gutted not to play last weekend, especially as it was against my old club, Harlequins! I had spent weeks winding up the Quins lads saying that i was going to smash them all over the field (apart from Clubby, as we'd done 'Pinky Swear' not to hurt each other...) and instead i had to sit in the terraces and watch!
It was a disappointing result for us but Quins were the better team on the night and didn't make any mistakes. I think it felt worse for me as not only had my ex-employers just beaten us, but I couldn't be on the field myself to help out my current teammates.
It's very frustrating being injured, even more so with a low-key injury such as a small muscle tear rather than a bigger injury with a set lay-off time. I've felt almost fit for days now, but I'm just not quite there! It will be touch and go whether I'll play this weekend against Leeds. Although I'm desperate to pull on the red-vee, i also know that i don't want to come back too soon and do myself more harm!
This week I've mostly been on the bike and swimming with Jon Wilkin and Sia Soliola, but on Wednesday I got to have a run around with the team (no contact though!), which cheered me up. I've also been having treatment with the physio everyday and I'm seeing definite results, if I'm not back this weekend then I should definitely be back for the next home game against Bradford Bulls.
