As usual, pre-season training has been tough. We've spent most of our time on the new 3G pitch at our Cowley training facilities, which has meant we can train in all weathers. That, and the fact that the weather has been so much milder than last winter, means we've managed to do everything we've needed to do, in the time that we've had. Some New Faces
This preseason has also brought some new faces to the squad, with boof (Laffranchi), Flash (Flanagan) and Larney (Hohaia) settling in well. I remember what it was like to be the new boy, so I made sure that I picked on Flash from the start!
First Game at Langtree Park
I'm really looking forward to our friendly against Widnes on Friday night, as it will be the first game to be played at Langtree Park. I'm really proud to be involved in such a big moment for the club, and I'm excited to be included in the first team to play a game there. Those fans that braved the weather for the open training session at the ground before Christmas will know how good it looks already, and the rest of you will get to find out on Friday!
Watch out Sir Alex!
Outside of training, I had a nice off season visiting the family down south and managed to squeeze in a week in the sun. The absence of a boxing day friendly meant that me, the mrs and the dog got to go home for Christmas, which was brilliant. My best present was definitely Football Manager 2012, and a new laptop to play it on! I've got my beloved Millwall into their first season in the premier league, with a transfer budget of only £500k, so doing well so far! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention I was manager of the year last season.... Watch out Sir Alex!
