Well, my first home derby wasn’t a success! Obviously everyone was even more disappointed after this loss than any other. It was a really tough game and unfortunately Wigan were the better team on the night. They had a good kicking game from which they scored most of their tries and we bombed a few opportunities of our own.
Training has been very intense this week as we prepare to face Warrington tonight. We’re looking to make amends both from last Friday’s result and our defeat by Warrington earlier on in the season. I hope to see you all there at the Halliwell Jones to cheer us on, our away support makes all the difference.
On Wednesday night myself, Jammer, Roby, Wilkin, Leon and Shenton attended a fall out meeting with the rest of the England Elite Squad to discuss the Exiles game earlier on in the month. We spoke about good and bad points of the game and England’s performance, and how we can turn this around and work successfully towards the four nations at the end of the season. Personally, I’ll keep training hard and trying to play well to hopefully keep myself in contention for selection for the Four Nations squad this year.
Hattons for Headway
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the team from Hattons who took part in a 200 mile coast to coast bike ride last weekend to raise money for the Halton and St Helens branch of Headway- the brain injury association. You can still donate money and sponsor them through their Just Giving page available at www.justgiving.com/hattonssolicitors. The money is going to a great cause.
If you would like to win a Saints shirt that I’ve signed then enter Hattons Social Media Competition. You can do this by following them on Twitter @HattonsLaw or by commenting on this blog.
