Catch Up With Family and Friends
Saturday saw my most eagerly anticipated away trip of the season! I was really excited to be back in London and it was great to catch up with some good friends, and my family of course!
Robert Purdham's Last Game
As well as it being the last game of Quin's season, it was also the last game for a good friend of mine, Robert Purdham. He is leaving London after 10 years playing down there for family reasons, and will be returning to his family farm in Cumbria. Purdo played in my first ever Super League game and I was very proud to be able to play in his last game in return.
A Game of Two Halves
The actual match was certainly a game of two halves! Quins were really up for it in the first half and managed to go in at half time in the lead. We stuck to our game plan in the second half and had a completion rate up in the 90′s. Tom Armstrong managed his first Super League hat trick in the second half too, so full credit to him!
One outstanding fact about our team last weekend was that it was entirely British with 15 of the 17 players having come through our academy system- not many teams can boast that fact!
Wigan in the Play-Offs
This coming weekend sees us play Wigan (yet again!) in the first round of the play-offs. Personally I'm really desperate for this win- for two reasons... 1) I have yet to beat Wigan as a Saints player and 2) my body would love a game-free weekend the week after! This is the first time I've ever been in the play-offs, and although I'm really proud and pleased, I'm also a little bit tired! Ha ha
What did you think of the Harlequins game? What are your score predictions for this weekend's game? Let me know what you think.
